Halfway, what WHAT?!!

HEY all!

Guess what Guess what?! This week marks the halfway point of my pregnancy. AND that's if I make it all the way to 40 weeks! How insane. It feels very weird to think time has flown by!

Tyler and I have changed our minds and decided to find out what we're having, and we're going to announce it to the world in two days :) We've known for about 4 weeks, but we have another ultrasound tomorrow to confirm. We haven't completed decided on a name, but we have a front runner that we've been using the past couple weeks.... We'll see.

So, pregnancy stuff! I know you all want to hear how it's going. Basically I could sum up my 2nd trimester in one word: constipation. Wow, it's a real thing. Still, i'd say better than nausea, but it's pretty awful. It just makes you feel so compacted, bloated and uncomfortable. Thankfully prune juice has been working really well for me. Within an hour or so, I get completely cleaned out. The only problem is, I travel around town for my job several times a day...so I have to be very strategic about when I drink it :) Or there could be a problem.

The nursery is officially painted, courtesy of my wonderful mom, since I can't be around the fumes. We've stuck with the warm cream walls, and orange and teal accents. We've been able to stock up on some clothing, toys, blankets, and other stuff from friends and garage sales. THIS will be one spoiled little person!

My bump is getting out of control. I've been feeling some kicks the past couple days, but very randomly. Probably once a day I feel one. It's really neat :)

Anyway, off I go to get ready for bed!

Happy 2nd Trimester!

So minion has officially made it to the 2nd trimester! This is a huge deal! I always knew that, but now being pregnant it means so much more. Wahoo, risk of scary things goes down dramatically!

After my most recent post, I had the worst sickness I've had in my life. I'm not exaggerating folks. It started out with a healthy meal, broccoli and salmon, for dinner. I laid down expecting to fall into my beauty sleep soon. HA! Well, I did fall asleep until 10:30pm, but I was awoken by pain in my stomach and vomit coming soon. I ran to the bathroom to poop (or so I thought) and ended up turning right around to upchuck some of my meal. I missed the toilet and attempted to scream Tylers name between bouts of puking.

Here's the thing about my throwing up style. I can't do the toilet thing. I have to be on hands and knees, throwing up into a bowl. I don't know why, that's just how I roll. Tyler ran in to attempt to save me, and just gagged at the mess on the floor. The food wasn't even broken down, it was so gross. Worst thing by far I have ever, ever, thrown up. So after about 5 minutes of continuous throwing up, Tyler helped me to the couch, prayed over me, got my puke bowl just in case, and went back to gaming.

Not 15 minutes later, I felt it coming again, and starting another round of puke and dry heaving. Tyler heard and decided it'd be best to stay with me. From that moment, I threw up every 15-20 minutes until 3am. My stomach ran out of food to get rid of, so at the end it was all stomach acid. It was the worst. I was throwing up water. I would fall asleep and wake up grabbing for my bowl. Thankfully it ended. I was able to nibble on cheerios and sip warm water.

Tyler and I both called in sick to work the next day, and tried to recuperate. It was a long day. I haven't throw up since, thankfully.

Actually since that day 2 1/2 weeks ago, I've started to feel better! I'm not even ABOUT to say I'm good from here on out. BUT the past 1 1/2 especially has been great. I've only had a couple headaches and some constipation. Honestly, I'll take that over nausea. Nausea is terrible. I still have food aversions, but they aren't as severe. I still haven't gain any weight, just been maintaining my pre-pregnancy weight. I'm very happy about this. I've continued to work out at least three times a week to help with my health and mental health. It has been working well. I got back into Zumba at least once a week, and have been river walking at the water park with my mom. It's so relaxing and fun. I've also been alternating arm strength training and pre-natal yoga.

I cannot get over this whole being pregnant thing. I'm still so amazed at Gods work in my body. My tummy continues to keep growing out slowly, and people are noticing more now. I have such wonderful moments where I want to cry (possibly hormones?), but I just am so excited to have a child. What a wonderful gift! I'm still in awe that God has trusted this in me. WOW!

I have had times of some terror.... 'Oh wow, i'm having a child. We're having a child. WE ARE HAVING A BABY. AHHHH....wow. Are we ready? SO much to do...'. Thankfully, I have a wonderful support team to help me through this moments. And it helps knowing these moments are pretty normal!

Night everyone!

Thanks for the advice...

SO! My posting once a week isn't going to hot, but I do think about doing it often. But by the time I sit to down to do it... I fall asleep. So here we are!

I am officially over 11 weeks along now!! Baby is doing very well, and I'm measuring closer to 12 weeks, whatever that means! Hopefully it does mean I'll give birth to a small adult.

Tyler and I had the privilege of meeting with our midwife for the first time on 6/17. The appointment went very well. So well, in fact, we have officially decided to do a home birth with her assistance. She will also have a certified midwife as her assistant, so we are in completely good hands. People absolutely think we are crazy for considering doing a home birth. But Tyler and I have been considering this for the past two years. We have researched pros and cons and everything we could. Here's my reasoning: I am the ultimate introvert. I really enjoy the home space I've created, and feel so calm at my home (and in control). I do not like taking medication, despite my past brush with anxiety and depression. I have taking medication while sick, and don't take anything for my period pain. I just don't like the way it makes me feel. Hospital births can escalate so quickly with medical interventions, and I don't want that to be an option.

That all being said, there is a small chance we will have to do a hospital birth if any serious complications arise. Tyler and I are very aware of this. Our OBGYN is our back up, and we will pre-register at the hospital just in case. :)  We will be prepared for whatever will happen.

So that leads me to the 'Thanks for the advice' thing. So many people have such strong opinions on what I should do with my pregnancy/birth/child. It's overwhelming. Only two-three people are genuinely excited about us doing a home birth. Everyone else looks at me like I have lost my mind, and how dare I put my babys health at risk. Sigh, if only everyone knew they had options on their birth, and can take control of it instead of letting hospitals run the show.

Tyler and I are also not finding out what we are having. We look at this as one of the wonderful surprises that God has for us, so why not just wait. People also think we are crazy. 'How could you do that?', 'How will you plan ANYTHING not knowing what you're having', 'How could you do that to your family, how will they know what to buy!'. I get those comments ALL THE TIME. It's insane. Well to answer them, I just smile and let them know we are doing just fine. We have planned our nursery for gender neutral, and everyone can easily buy things that can accommodate that. We are planning a teal and orange nursery. It's going to be perfect!

So I jogged for over 10 minutes straight and did pull ups at the gym today. My mom and dad were not happy about that, 'Are you sure that's safe?'. Our OBGYN and midwife have both strongly recommended that I continue my workout regimen as long as I'm comfortable. And I felt great doing it. I'm not doing dead lifts anymore, so that something that I have tuned down. We'll see how it goes.

How does it feel knowing I'll be a mom in 6 months. Crazy. That's how it feels. The excitement and pre terror alternate. More excitement though. I know our lives will change so drastically, but I'm okay with that. We are ready for this! Maybe not for all the exhaustion and no sleep thing...but the wonderful blessing of a child. God trusts and loves me so much, he has blessed me with a child in my womb :) I still can't comprehend that.

Thanks to whomever is staying updated with this. And if no one is, I'm okay with that too!

First trimester woes

Well, today I am officially 9 1/2 weeks! I only have two and 1/2 left until I'm in the 'safe zone' of the second trimester. Apparently, I'm supposed to start feeling a lot better and have an energy surge. That would be wonderful!

I had my first official OB appointment with Dr. Ablard on 6/6. She is so wonderful, and almost makes me rethink doing a midwife homebirth. Almost. She did another intravaginal ultrasound to check on our little muggle. AND it was beautiful. I don't think my mind will ever completely wrap around the fact I am seeing our little baby inside my body. It seems simple, but when it happens to you. Wow. Incredible. Baby K is starting to finally look like a baby instead of an alien. It has a very clearly defined head and arms and leg 'buds'. Crazy. It's about the size of a green olive. My due date has only moved up by one day, January 9. Honestly, who knows. It's more of a 'baby could come at this date give or take two weeks-ish'. I'm hoping for after versus before the due date. Unless it's a huge baby.... Tyler and his brother were both nearly 10 lbs. I was only 5lbs. Let's hope it's somewhere in the middle!
We also heard babys' heartbeat. It jumped from 109bpm two weeks ago to 180s! So fast!! We could see the heart beating so super fast, working really hard. Cute.

So we officially told everyone. Tyler feels completely relieved. But me and my panic self just can't let go of the fact that if something happens, we'll have to tell everyone. BUT I can't focus on things that most likely won't happen. Tylers good about reminding me of that.

Here's the picture we used to make it facebook official. I'm so happy with the way it turned out. Everyone who doesn't like harry potter can get over it.

So, preggo side effects: it honestly hasn't been unbearable. I've only throw up once, from my last post. I've had days where I 'could' probably throw up if I tried, but I try to distract myself and it usually goes away. I've had some crazy bouts of dizziness, but those also go away relatively quickly. All in all, I'd say things are going well. The most concerning part for me is the cramps. No one talks about those, and I'm not sure if I've posted already about them. Well...it only makes since that your uterus expands to fit expanding baby. I never thought for some reason you would feel that stretching! And well, you do. Sometimes it feels like period cramps, which is terrifying and makes you think you're having a miscarriage. Sometimes they are sharp little pains on both sides of my pelvic region that extend to my hips. I can always breathe through these, and they don't make me double over. They just make me more 'alert' and in tune with my body is doing. These cramps/stretching happens any time of the day, but mostly after dinner. Right when I'm getting ready to go to sleep.

Speaking of that, how's sleep going? It's okay. I've gotten out of my 5x/week gym habit, so I don't have that to make me tired. I only worked out 3-ish times last week, and only once was at the gym. I've been foolishly scared I will hurt my baby by working out, but it's actually completely safe and preferred to continue your workout regimen. It's just the 'feeling awful' that gets in the way. Tyler has been really good about going on 2 mile walks with me and the puppies. When it's not 5 million degrees out. Not looking forward to summer.

So, how's my anxiety going? It comes and goes. Last night was the worst it's been. I haven't had any panic attacks (PRAISE GOD), but I do have times where satan invades my brain and gets me thinking about how awful a mother i'll be, and how i'll suffer from postpartum depression. I can usually just quietly sit and pray for strength and praise God for letting me be a mother. I will typically go away. Well last night it still hadn't gone away at 2am. BUT I did eventually fall asleep thinking about who knows what.

This is the longest post ever! There's more. So I ate Jims Chicken last night. No. Not ever again. Baby did not like it. I felt nauseated the rest of the night. It was awful. I should've made myself puke. Bleh. On a good note, I'm so obsessed with peaches right now. I eat three a day at least. YUM!!!

Statistic

5/24: Well, now I join the high percent of women that have thrown up from morning sickness. That was a fun 'treat' this morning. As the acid rose up my throat, I remember thinking 'Why in the world would anyone do this more than once?!'. I feel a lot better now, but I have a feeling that won't be the last time. Tyler just called from our room 'Uh oh.' He came out mid-puke and said 'So it begins'. He dumped my puke bowl and didn't fuss about it. What a sweetie.

So to catch you up on the past week. I had spotting over this past weekend, but it was dark brown so I was told not to worry. Well, I still called my nurse anyway. So she wanted me to get my blood levels drawn on 5/19 and an ultrasound 5/21. My HCG levels on 5/19 were 98,000. They were 14,000 last Monday, so they are risely 'beautifully per my nurse. Tyler and I were still very worried something was wrong, but we knew we'd find out for sure at the ultrasound.

5/21 we waited patiently as our ultrasound tech called us back 20 minutes late and started with a tummy ultrasound. She said happily, 'Oh look! There's the sack.' So we were pretty relieved. By the way. You have to have a full bladder to do those tummy ones, and then they push extra hard. It was all I could do not to pee myself.

Then I had to use the restroom to prepare for the Transvaginal ultrasound (I'll let you look up that one). She took several pictures and measured our little minion. I am measuring at 7 weeks today (5/24), and my due date is January 10th. We actually got a surprise too! We heard a very strong heartbeat, first time! It was very sweet, and cute and wonderful!

So symptoms: only thrown up once!, dizziness, nausea (like motion sickness), and some breast soreness. I'm still having some food aversions (left overs, ginger, deli meat, coffee, spinach). I can't go near those things. No huge cravings besides potato skins last Sunday. I'm trying to drink smoothies most mornings so I can take my time drinking them. Bleh.

Bumpy ride!

It's been two weeks since my last blog post, even though it hasn't been published yet!

Since then....

My OBGYN requested I get blood levels drawn 3 times in two weeks to sure that my blood levels were increasing normally (doubling every 48 hours). SOooo, 5/5 my HCG count was 700, 5/7 1800, 5/12 14,000. Wahoo, so all is good and well! However, there seems to be some great confusion on how far along I am. According to my LMP, I should now by 7 1/2-8 weeks along. HOWEVER, according to the ultrasounds I've had, I'm only 5 1/2-6 weeks. MAJOR SIGH. I know it may not seem like much, but I thought I was that much closer to getting out of the 1st trimester. I've been a nervous mess.

I wish women talked more about what to expect when you're 'expecting'. I've had spotting and blood three times in the past three weeks, and I've freaked out every time. Apparently, this can be normal. From my ultra sound three days ago, I possibly have a Subchronic hematoma (go ahead and look it up), so I need to be extra careful over the next 6 weeks.

Every time I have a cramp or weird feeling, I get nervous. 'Is that supposed to happen, What was that, Am I miscarrying?, AH!'. Thankfully, some of my mommy friends have been so helpful with advice and suggestions. Speaking of cramps. I continue to have them. Not as extreme as period cramps, but enough to make me worry. They aren't constant, but they happen at least 2-3 times a day, mostly at night. Apparently, my uterus is stretching so I get to feel it all happen! Wahoo.

During my latest ultrasound, they were able to detect a heartbeat. Our little muggles heart is already formed and beating at 103bpm. It's crazy. Right now our baby is only 2mm long, and resembles a dragon (Hungarian horntail? Sorry non-Harry Potter fans). Oh hey, I'm watching Harry Potter right now.

So how am I making it through all of this? God mainly. I am praying multiple times a day for strength and giving praise to Him. It is so unbelievably incredible watching this baby grow. How could people even question Him! Besides that, I am trying to surround myself with all positive strong people. And drinking lots of water.

Let's talk about pregnancy 'symptoms'. Yea, I got those. My boobs and nipples are SOOOOOORE. They've been like that for 3 weeks now. It comes and goes, sometimes throbbing, sometimes barely annoying. What else? Dizziness, lots of it. It started two weeks ago. I was so disoriented, I probably shouldn't have been driving... I've also had some major food aversions. Not to any particular food. Just mainly food in general. I am just NOT hungry. And then when I am, watch out! Last thing I'll say, constipation. Ouch!

Anywho, more to come.

May the FOURTH be with you

What an interesting past week. It's been 8 days since my initial post saying I was 'Pregnant', all off of a gut feeling after missing my period. Since then I've had 3 negative pregnancy tests and one negative blood test. Holy Moly was all of that stressful.

I still have not had my period. I did however, bleed a little bit last Tuesday (7 days late), after my blood test came back negative. So, after that, I assumed I was in the clear and finally let my mind set that this wasn't the time.

Well I talked to my friend who is the RN for The Pregnancy Service Center, where I volunteer every Friday. She said if I still haven't had a period, I should take a test this morning. So I did. And. I am pregnant. I took another one 6 hours later, just to make sure, and BOTH were positive (rather quickly I might add).

I quickly revealed this to my husband (with a card I made last week, just in case), and he all but bawled with excitement. I told my best friend who's been along with my on this journey, but that is all I'll tell for now. The plan is we can reveal to our immediate family this weekend on 'Mothers Day'. THEN eventually we can tell everyone when I get to 12 weeks (in about 6 weeks).

I'm going to be posting a WHOLE bunch of blogs back to back after we reveal!

I already bought a Harry Potter onesie off Etsy...Dear LORD please give me self control!

How did this happen...

A year has come and gone since my last entry. What a different place I was in then, emotionally-mentally. I've been medication free for over a year now, and that is a wonderful feeling. I continue to handle my anxiety (which is ever-present) by working out hard 4-5 days a week and doing things I enjoy. I'm down 20 lbs over the past year, and have maintained my current weight for the past 4 months (pretty awesome). I have not had a 'full-blown' panic attack over the past year. Maybe because I know what they feel like now, and I address it immediately. It may sound crazy, but I feel more susceptible to panic attacks on an empty stomach, so I try to snack often and it helps!!

Well that being said, it may all change now because...

I'm pregnant!

This has come as somewhat as a surprise, as we weren't going to really start trying until this fall. I got off my birth control last fall, and have been on prenatal vitamins since then. Prenatal vitamins by the way, gross. I've puked so many times from them, most people say it's due to the high Iron content. I guess it's been preparing me to practice upchucking my food, so yay.

By the time I've posted this, everyone else will know who is close to me. I felt such a strong need to start blogging this AMAZING gift from God, as I transition into motherhood. Let me tell ya, finding my password and email address was pretty difficult!

Anywho back to the pregnancy thing. Today, 4/26, and my period is five days late. It has not every fluctuated this much, plus we, uh, *ya know* close to my ovulation day. I didn't think anything of it, but when I noticed absence of a period along with some minor cramps I got a little NERVOUS. I took a test yesterday and it took FOREVER to work, and BAM negative... Hm. So basically, if I start my period here in the next couple days no one will see this post. At least, not the pregnancy part.

If I am pregnant, wowee, what a journey this will be. I spend all day everyday with children, so I know I'll handle that part okay. It's more the...not sleeping, gaining weight, labor, money thing that bothers me. Speaking of labor. Tyler and I decided awhile ago that we'd go with a home birth. All my friends/family think I'm crazy, but I know I can do this. What an empowering opportunity, and I refuse (as much as I can) to be drugged in any way. So, we'll see how that goes...

I haven't gotten much sleep over the past three days. It's all due to NOT KNOWING for sure if I am pregnant. For a planner, this part is difficult, hence the blog. I'll keep trying to write a post when I can, then when everyone knows, I'll post them all :)

Our new addition!

We have a new addition to our little family.

MEET MILLIE!

She is such a wonderful puppy. I found Millie on Salina Buy/Sell/Trade for FREE with: 1 yr heartworm protection, 3 beds, large crate, food, Christmas stocking, toys, treats and bowls. She is wonderful 3 year old puppy, who adores Duke (even though the picture might not show it). They give each other kisses and cuddle, it is ADORABLE. She is fully house trained and puppy trained to sit, stay and come. We are so thankful we found her.

Monday Blues

I'm going on week 3 of taking Pristiq every other day. It's had a it's good and bad days. Today was one of those bad days. I woke up with a start for some reason, panicky like really bad heartburn. I sat up and got super dizzy. Last time I felt like that I split my toe nail when I ran into the bathroom door... I have no idea how I got ready while feeling so sick, but somehow I made it to work around 8am. I was having hot flashes, nose running, coughing, dizzy and nauseous. It. Was. TERRIBLE. I sucked it up and took an little extra time over lunch to lie down and relax. It helped a little I guess. By 5pm I was feeling well enough for Zumba. Now that I'm home, showered and full of sushi :) I feel meh.

I've been suffering majorly from allergies/cold since this past friday. I've got it all: runny nose, itchy skin, throat on fire, nausea. Bleh. So all that on top of getting off anti-depressants is not my cup of tea.

I can't explain how difficult it has been on my bad days. It feels like it'd be so easy to give up, and go back on them. BUT I have to remember, they don't make me feel that much better. I just need to be strong and be able to handle my anxiety (prescription free). Speaking of that, I haven't taken Xanax in MONTHS :) Woot!

So.....my green thumb kicked in this past weekend! I planted 6 packets of flower seeds, and over 20 daylily plants from our neighbor. I was so covered in dirt/mud/nasties. I loved it! The bugs/spiders aren't out quite yet, so it was lovely :) Can't wait to see stuff start blooming!

I also wanted to bake like crazy. So I made jello. HA. Seriously though. I made delicious peach jello. NOM NOM. OH, and I also made two loaves of 'Starbucks' Lemon Loaf bread. I took one loaf to work, and I think everyone liked it. :)

Anywho. While I'm feeling better, I'm going to go be lazy.

NIGHT BEAUTIFUL WORLD!!

Bird

Holy Moses, a bird just flew into our front window and Duke fell off the couch. Funniest. Thing. Ever.

The End.

Spring-tas-tic

For all of you NOT in Kansas, we welcomed Spring with a snow storm this past weekend. Thankfully it wasn't near as bad as projected, so no shoveling was necessary. We need the moisture *blah blah*, but I hate all the mud it creates in our backyard. We have to carry Duke from the garage to our bathtub each time he goes outside. Stupid mud. We lucked out with a dog that loves bath time, so of course he enjoys it. I have a feeling our bathtub pipes won't love it as much.

Life over the past three-ish months has been good :) Work is crazy, but that's nothing new. Hubby and I continue to work on our house, little projects here and there. Thank cheesus the first year of marriage is over, things seem to be getting better each day. Every now again we have a typical terrible day, but we handle it with patience. As long as he continues to clean up his clothes on the floor, all will be great (HA!).

My depression medication has been making me feel 'blah' for the past couple months. I haven't had any panic attacks BUT I have zero motivation to do anything, not even crafts *GASP*. So with the consensus from my Dr., I'm getting off of them. Apparently this can happen after a couple months on Pristiq. For those with severe depression, it's good to feel 'evened out' and 'blah'. Not so much for me, I'd like to enjoy things and care about things I used to love. So starting last Wednesday, I'm alternating my doses. Instead of daily, I take a pill every other day. Last Thursday morning was rough, I hadn't taken a pill since Tuesday and I was extremely dizzy. Of course I had a departmental meeting at 8am, so I was up at 6:15 am to get ready. I felt woozy and nauseous. It was so bad I ran into the bathroom door and split my toe nail open! It was the day to take a pill, so a couple hours later I felt okay. Probably shouldn't  have drove to work...meh.

Since then, I've been feeling okay. Saturday morning and this morning (Monday) have gone good, I haven't felt near as nauseous or dizzy. No toe nails have been broken and all doors remain intact. I'm so thankful it's been a smooth transition thus far. I heard from others getting off of it that it gets rough when you starting skipping two doses, which makes sense. But I'll just choose to celebrate this baby step while I can! WOOT!

So to help with getting off meds, I've joined the YMCA with my bestie Casey. We've both got post-wedding weight gain, so it's about time. Dog walks aren't cutting it anymore :) We've started doing Zumba classes M,W,F and Saturday each week. It's really fun! And my body hurts the next day; a good hurt. It's been three weeks, and I feel great! Haven't weighed myself, but I feel good so that's all that matters right now. And now I can get dooooooooooooooooooowwwwnnn on the dance floor, with out looking like Elaine from Seinfeld.

I LOVE the Hobbit. And what in the heck is the Harlem Shake?

So....

It's been awhile. Happy 2013!

A lot has happened since my last entry. I won't divulge here on the specifics. Just know that I continue to work on myself and my relationships with those closest to me. I'm a long stronger than I was a couple months ago. I regret that way I've handled things in the past, BUT they happened for a reasons, even if you don't believe in that sort of thing.

The past couple weeks have been a blur. A happy blur, but very busy. First off, I've been sick with the typical nasty cold/flu season stuff. It comes and goes in it's severity, today it's pretty terrible. Actually, my husband is also home sick with it. We're pretty miserable. Lucky Duke is here to take care of us :)

Christmas was fun, but not really relaxing. The 21st was spent celebrating my friend, Gilda's, birthday. We went to Hong Kong buffet and putt putt golfing. I'd never been to Hong Kong before, it was alright. I tried to stay on the healthier side, but I LOVE crab rangoons. We went with some co-workers, Jeff and Maggie, and another friend of Gildas, Gloria. Putt-putt was fun, I haven't played in awhile. We kept score for awhile, but just enjoyed being ridiculous after Hole 5 or 6. It was awesome! AND we didn't have to get plastered to have fun.

The 22nd hubby and I went for family Christmas in McPherson on his uncles dairy farm. We did the whole White Elephant thing, ended up with a panini toaster. I was pretty miserable and sick the entire time, and tried to keep my snot to myself. The 23rd-24th my mother, Gilda and I went to spend time in Hill City with my grandparents. I love it there. I started a fire in their fireplace, and we played Mexican Train dominos and 'You name it' card game for hours. We came back early on the 24th, and went right back to McPherson to spend the night with hubbys parents. We opened presents and enjoyed my father in laws amazing grill skills. On Christmas we went right from McPherson to my dads house in the country for some lunch. My dad hooked us up with some Zombie killing equipment (knives and such). It does make me feel a bit safer :) We then came home and enjoyed Christmas night with my mom and Duke.

I didn't take any time off work this past holiday season, which probably didn't help my cold. So right back to work I went the day after Christmas. New Years came and went quickly. Hubby and I enjoyed dinner at Martinellis on New Years Eve with my dad, step-mom, step-sister and her family. We then went and bought a Wii, and bailed on going to a country bar. We spent the night battling each other in Mario Cart (MY FAV GAME) and Wii sports. We spent most of New Years day playing Wii tennis, bowling and Mario Cart. Time well spent :)

I don't do new years resolutions. Too much pressure :) HA. BUT I continue to build my relationship with God and my husband.

Hope everyone had a great holiday season, bring on 2013!

First week at 'home', Lion King, Bridal festivities

So I know I've posted that we've officially moved into our humble abode (spell check?). It's been interesting adjusting to the new place. It feels weird sleeping in our bed, and adjusting to new neighborhood sounds at night. I've had to bust out my ear plugs a couple nights since I'm such a light sleeper. We're having issues with our darn bathroom sink too. I keep pouring Drano to fix it, but apparently that isn't working... Hubby took it apart and soaked our toilet paper. Still didn't find the problem, so looks like we'll be finding a plumber.

This last weekend was exhausting. Friday, hubby and I went to the Lion King on faux broadway in Wichita. I've seen the show before, but it was still really good. The props are incredible, and the actors have such great talent. That night we stayed at the Hyatt, which is attached to where the Lion King was showing. All we had to do was walk through the hotel :) This was much appreciated since I wore my platform heels. Neither one of us slept much that night, probably because we had a busy day ahead of us.

Saturday we drove to McPherson and got our hair done by hubbys mother (she owns her own salon). Bye bye blonde, hello redish brown. I LOVE it. Hubby got his shaggyness all taken care of and looks great :) No more beiber hair. After that I drove home wo help my friend with her wedding in two weeks. Being master of the glue gun, I got assigned to glue yarn wrapped wine bottles and lace wrapped mason jars. I also painted mason jars and other misc. things. Towards the end we started making cream cheese mints into pink flower shapes. She needed over a thousand. OH I forgot to mention, I pushed a glue stick down to far and the glue burst all over my running pants. I'm so shocked I don't have burn marks. I guess that ruins my glue gun cred...

After that I headed home to relax briefly before a friend came over to catch up. We haven't seen eachother in three years, so long overdue. Now I got myself an awesome Harry Potter poster and some comics to catch up on. I'm almost done with the first one. My friend is right, I do like them :)

This morning I took my pup on a run at the park pretty early and tried to sleep (no success). I did some chores and waited for hubby to get home (he was at a party all weekend). When he finally got home, I actually got a nap in! It felt great to sleep for awhile, not quite long enough though. Fingers crossed I can actually sleep tonight now. We shall see.

Overall it's been an up and down week with some surprises. But i'd classify it as good overall. I'm so ready for some vacation. Too bad I have to wait until Thanksgiving.

Anywho, hubby and I are going to watch a scary movie. And for those of you who know me, this is a big deal which I may regret later.

Night beautiful world!

Carrots and Onions and Chicken, Oh MY!

So hubby and I are pretty good with our finances, and to plan out our meals we decided to try out a pinterest idea (SHOCKING!). We've been wanting to try it, just haven't had a big enough kitchen to do it yet! We wanted to make meals as easy as possible, and as inexpensive as possible :) So we chose to try frozen prepared crockpot meals. I found a pin on pinterest that had the grocery list and steps for 20 meals, so away we went to Dillons. We were shocked at how inexpensive it all was, only $80 (Only $4 a meal)! Hubby enjoys cooking, so he didn't mind cutting everything up while I mixed/cooked/measured everything out. It took us about 3 hours, but now we have 20 meals freezing that we can just pull out and cook throughout the day in our crockpot! Heres hoping it all tastes good :)
We need a bigger freezer...
Here's the link if you want to do it also:

Holy Moly

It has been way too long since I've blogged! <insert well thought out excuse>

Well, we've finally moved in! When I say moved in I mean we've brought over all out STUFF and it's now needing to be unpacked. Anyone that's bored this afternoon, please feel free to come help! Right now I'm enjoying Harry Potter on our itsy bitsy TV from our ultra comfy couch. We had a lovely puzzler already this morning, no hot water. When we just had hot water yesterday. Sigh, of course I figured this out right when I got into the shower. Hubby eventually figured out it was the pilot light. I got the privilege of trying out or jacuzzi tub first :) It was ahmazing. We also took Duke on a walk at Jerry Ivey. We're so thankful to live next to such a nice park.

Hubby and I took off the day tomorrow to get more stuff unpacked. Or sit here any watch TV. I'm not sure yet. All these wood and tile floors are killing my feet. Time for some comfy slippers :)) Mission:organize/decorate our house is underway. I've girl-y-fied the master bedroom, guest bedroom and bathroom. Now I just have the living room, kitchen, bathroom, office and basement and yard left...sigh.

Anywho, my depression and anxiety has been going very well. No panic attacks for close to a month and a half, and no Xanax for weeks. It's been great :)

Hope everyone has a lovely day!

Normalcy

Today's been a weird day. Not bad weird, just weird. I've felt off all day, and I don't like that feeling.

I love pinterest.

Last night I felt nervous getting prepared for my first day back in Abilene outreach. I went to bed early-ish and feel asleep watching Netflix on my tablet. My tablet work me up by falling on my face. HA! Went back to sleep and woke up around 6:30ish, out of bed around 7. And off I went to Abilene. I was greeted with some rain, which made this girl happy!! It went good, and it was still semi cloudy on my way back. I spend my four hour break at therapy, and then took duke on a run/jog/walk. He pooped out on me half way through and I had to drag him the rest of the way! I hopped in the shower and the stinker hopped in after me! He was pretty hot after our run. Off I went back to Abilene for my last two clients, and it went well. The skies got cloudy again, and it was awesome!

I stopped at our house on the way to moms, and to my surprise, hubby was already there working! We put the remaining cabinet doors on, and put the cabinet above the fridge up. He stayed to grout the transitions from the living room, and I came home for some pasta bake. Yesterday I was an over-achiever and cooked pasta bake and egg salad.

Now I'm just attempting to relax before heading to bed. I opened all the windows to hear the storms rolling through. The fresh air feels fantastic. I can't wait for the 60 degree weather tomorrow! I already have my jeans and sweater picked out, that's how excited I am :) Yay, cold weather!

=---

So over the past week has gone good. I've stopped taking Xanax at night. So since last Saturday I've just been taking Pristiq in the morning and Melatonin at night. Go me! I know I still may need to take Xanax every once in awhile, but I'm okay with that.

Oh and Duke attacked a cricket. It's laying dead on the floor. I refuse to pick it up. Gross.

Thank you GOD for helping me through all of this. I praise you daily and look forward to your plans for me :)

House, House, House Blah!

So a good week so far!
I've been getting more sleep than I have last week, which is such a blessing. I usually get to sleep around 10pm, wake up at 1-ish, and go back to sleep until 6ish. BIG step! I'm feeling less side effects from the medication (less drowsiness, less nausea!). I'm no longer taking nausea medication, or Xanax near as much.
I had therapy this morning, and we basically discussed what going back to work full time will look like. She would rather me ease back into it, instead of overwhelming myself. So looks like I'll be working 6 hr days next week, 7 hr days for two weeks after that, and then start back at 8 hr days in 3-4 weeks. Sounds good to me!
Well, I went over to our house today to help my mother in law paint some things. She painted the insides of all the cabinets and touched up the wall over the stairs. I finished sanding the kitchen halfwall, primed it and then finished painting it. It's all coming together! Sorry, still no pictures yet. I also went and bug sprayed outside. We have a SERIOUS infestation of box elder bugs on our trees out bad. They are breeding like crazy. It's really gross. Hopefully I got most/all of them.

Anywho, I'm gonna get ready for bed. Night all!

Yea, I suck at posting

So, hey. It's been awhile. My mom threatened me with burnt mushrooms if I didn't write another post, so here I am.

The last post was Tuesday, and no, I didn't die. Even though it flippin felt like it! Just another confirmation that I can get through it. The rest of the week went pretty fast as I was preparing for the bachelorette party over the weekend. Wednesday I only worked 2 hours since Tuesday night/Wednesday morning were filled with lack of sleep and panic. Good news is I hadn't had any panic for about two weeks. Medication is working, side effects suck.

I learned my lesson from playing games non-stop on my tablet, I get brain freeeeeeeaaaaakkkksss out. So no more songpop domination or TempleRun for now. Just temporary hopefully. I ROCK at songpop.

Anyway, so the big weekend has come and past and I'm a survivor of yet another Bachelorette/Kansas City party weekend. The ride down was fine, I took some motion sickness pills and managed not to get sick. Downpours of rain welcomed us to our hotel, and I was FREAKING out! Not cause I don't love rain(everyone knows I LOVE IT), but because my brand spanking new booties are suede! Thank goodness it stopped or I would have had to wear flippity flops with my amazing borrowed dress. Phew, dodged a bullet.

ALl of the bridal party (7 of us) ate lunch at firehouse subs (love my meatball sub!) and went back to veg and put our faces/makeup on. Then the games started, which I must say I rocked. One involved a honeycomb cereal box. It was placed on the ground and we had to take turns picking it up with our teeth, without using hands or getting on our knees. Basically we had to be ninjas. Each round would get another two inches cut off the box. I tied with another girl for the winner, the box was only 1/2in tall, and I still was able to get it with my teeth. Not gonna lie, my legs hurt the next day. So worth it.

We then went to dinner, and walked a block to The Cheesecake Factory. We had to wait an hour and 45 minutes for our table, so we of course went to the bar. I held down the fort with my Ginger Ale on the rocks, and tried to block out the insanely loud horrible music and yelling of random people. I didn't do so hot. My brain started to feel fried/overloaded. I didn't even get 5 bites down of my salmon and asparagus before having to start doing deep breathing exercises. Thankfully we left shortly after that and I strutted my stuff back to our hotel. I decided I wasn't going to make it out, since the noise would not be worth it.

SOOO while the other girls went and drank too much I cleaned up the hotel room, got their beds ready, and  tried to relax. I got about 45 minutes of sleep before the party came back, and the bride lost her cookies for about an hour. BUT funny thing was, when she bounced on the bed she got stuck between the wall and the bed. CRACKED us up! I love her, she rocks my world.

Anyway, so the next day was okay. I got not enough sleep and felt terrible. Another girl was up at 7 so we went for some breakfast while the other girls were sleeping it off. We only got shushed 3 or 4 times, haha. We came back at 9:30a and I decided to get everything pack up so we could get outta dodge asap. Everyone was awake around 10-ish, and we were gone by 11:45am. We stopped in Lawrence to hang with the brides brothers, and to eat some yummy food. We finally got hour around 5:30 I think. I actually don't remember...doesn't matter. The rest of the night I napped and relaxed.

Today hubby and I went over to our house to keep working away. He completed the tile/grout on the floor and started the back splash tile. It looks so beautiful! I'll post a pic some time, I promise. I mowed and mulched the yard in 100 degree weather. I should get medal or a stupidity badge. Way too hot. I have a terrible farmers tan now. Ugh. We ended up using 16 bags of red mulch, and it looks awesome!

Anyway, time to do some laundry. Night beautiful world! Sweet dreams!

Day 13

It has been a rough day today. I don't know why.

I started out normal. Nothing really different. I took my medication like I usually do. I started to feel fluttery in my chest, which made me start to feel a little anxious. It did go away after a couple minutes. I relaxed a lot, did laundry, dishes, cooked up squash and made tuna salad. Work was very busy. It seemed like I was on the go the entire time. I started out at the middle school, as I was leaving another case manager caught me and said SRS (now DCF) was trying to track me down for one of my clients (oh joy). So on my down time I spent tracking down DCF, and catching up on my notes. My second clients parents weren't home when it was time to drop her off, so that was frustrating. They were 30 minutes late! Then I had to catch up on notes for the rest of the day.

I haven't felt normal the past couple hours. I feel really jittery. My brain feels like its moving 100mph. I also feel extremely photosensitive, and it actually is hard to type this up. I don't like this feeling. My brain feels kind of heavy (weird, right?), but super alert. Ugh. I noticed I haven't eaten enough today either. OOPS, forgot to mention. I stopped taking my nausea medication yesterday to see if I needed it. Well, I think I do. It's hard to eat again. So I took one about an hour ago, and wolfed down a bowl of cheerios (no milk). Well, before m,y brain explodes, or I have a seizure!, I'm gonna check out for the night.

Night beautiful world. I can't wait to write a more positive blog tomorrow!
