First week at 'home', Lion King, Bridal festivities

So I know I've posted that we've officially moved into our humble abode (spell check?). It's been interesting adjusting to the new place. It feels weird sleeping in our bed, and adjusting to new neighborhood sounds at night. I've had to bust out my ear plugs a couple nights since I'm such a light sleeper. We're having issues with our darn bathroom sink too. I keep pouring Drano to fix it, but apparently that isn't working... Hubby took it apart and soaked our toilet paper. Still didn't find the problem, so looks like we'll be finding a plumber.

This last weekend was exhausting. Friday, hubby and I went to the Lion King on faux broadway in Wichita. I've seen the show before, but it was still really good. The props are incredible, and the actors have such great talent. That night we stayed at the Hyatt, which is attached to where the Lion King was showing. All we had to do was walk through the hotel :) This was much appreciated since I wore my platform heels. Neither one of us slept much that night, probably because we had a busy day ahead of us.

Saturday we drove to McPherson and got our hair done by hubbys mother (she owns her own salon). Bye bye blonde, hello redish brown. I LOVE it. Hubby got his shaggyness all taken care of and looks great :) No more beiber hair. After that I drove home wo help my friend with her wedding in two weeks. Being master of the glue gun, I got assigned to glue yarn wrapped wine bottles and lace wrapped mason jars. I also painted mason jars and other misc. things. Towards the end we started making cream cheese mints into pink flower shapes. She needed over a thousand. OH I forgot to mention, I pushed a glue stick down to far and the glue burst all over my running pants. I'm so shocked I don't have burn marks. I guess that ruins my glue gun cred...

After that I headed home to relax briefly before a friend came over to catch up. We haven't seen eachother in three years, so long overdue. Now I got myself an awesome Harry Potter poster and some comics to catch up on. I'm almost done with the first one. My friend is right, I do like them :)

This morning I took my pup on a run at the park pretty early and tried to sleep (no success). I did some chores and waited for hubby to get home (he was at a party all weekend). When he finally got home, I actually got a nap in! It felt great to sleep for awhile, not quite long enough though. Fingers crossed I can actually sleep tonight now. We shall see.

Overall it's been an up and down week with some surprises. But i'd classify it as good overall. I'm so ready for some vacation. Too bad I have to wait until Thanksgiving.

Anywho, hubby and I are going to watch a scary movie. And for those of you who know me, this is a big deal which I may regret later.

Night beautiful world!

Carrots and Onions and Chicken, Oh MY!

So hubby and I are pretty good with our finances, and to plan out our meals we decided to try out a pinterest idea (SHOCKING!). We've been wanting to try it, just haven't had a big enough kitchen to do it yet! We wanted to make meals as easy as possible, and as inexpensive as possible :) So we chose to try frozen prepared crockpot meals. I found a pin on pinterest that had the grocery list and steps for 20 meals, so away we went to Dillons. We were shocked at how inexpensive it all was, only $80 (Only $4 a meal)! Hubby enjoys cooking, so he didn't mind cutting everything up while I mixed/cooked/measured everything out. It took us about 3 hours, but now we have 20 meals freezing that we can just pull out and cook throughout the day in our crockpot! Heres hoping it all tastes good :)
We need a bigger freezer...
Here's the link if you want to do it also:

Holy Moly

It has been way too long since I've blogged! <insert well thought out excuse>

Well, we've finally moved in! When I say moved in I mean we've brought over all out STUFF and it's now needing to be unpacked. Anyone that's bored this afternoon, please feel free to come help! Right now I'm enjoying Harry Potter on our itsy bitsy TV from our ultra comfy couch. We had a lovely puzzler already this morning, no hot water. When we just had hot water yesterday. Sigh, of course I figured this out right when I got into the shower. Hubby eventually figured out it was the pilot light. I got the privilege of trying out or jacuzzi tub first :) It was ahmazing. We also took Duke on a walk at Jerry Ivey. We're so thankful to live next to such a nice park.

Hubby and I took off the day tomorrow to get more stuff unpacked. Or sit here any watch TV. I'm not sure yet. All these wood and tile floors are killing my feet. Time for some comfy slippers :)) Mission:organize/decorate our house is underway. I've girl-y-fied the master bedroom, guest bedroom and bathroom. Now I just have the living room, kitchen, bathroom, office and basement and yard left...sigh.

Anywho, my depression and anxiety has been going very well. No panic attacks for close to a month and a half, and no Xanax for weeks. It's been great :)

Hope everyone has a lovely day!

Normalcy

Today's been a weird day. Not bad weird, just weird. I've felt off all day, and I don't like that feeling.

I love pinterest.

Last night I felt nervous getting prepared for my first day back in Abilene outreach. I went to bed early-ish and feel asleep watching Netflix on my tablet. My tablet work me up by falling on my face. HA! Went back to sleep and woke up around 6:30ish, out of bed around 7. And off I went to Abilene. I was greeted with some rain, which made this girl happy!! It went good, and it was still semi cloudy on my way back. I spend my four hour break at therapy, and then took duke on a run/jog/walk. He pooped out on me half way through and I had to drag him the rest of the way! I hopped in the shower and the stinker hopped in after me! He was pretty hot after our run. Off I went back to Abilene for my last two clients, and it went well. The skies got cloudy again, and it was awesome!

I stopped at our house on the way to moms, and to my surprise, hubby was already there working! We put the remaining cabinet doors on, and put the cabinet above the fridge up. He stayed to grout the transitions from the living room, and I came home for some pasta bake. Yesterday I was an over-achiever and cooked pasta bake and egg salad.

Now I'm just attempting to relax before heading to bed. I opened all the windows to hear the storms rolling through. The fresh air feels fantastic. I can't wait for the 60 degree weather tomorrow! I already have my jeans and sweater picked out, that's how excited I am :) Yay, cold weather!

=---

So over the past week has gone good. I've stopped taking Xanax at night. So since last Saturday I've just been taking Pristiq in the morning and Melatonin at night. Go me! I know I still may need to take Xanax every once in awhile, but I'm okay with that.

Oh and Duke attacked a cricket. It's laying dead on the floor. I refuse to pick it up. Gross.

Thank you GOD for helping me through all of this. I praise you daily and look forward to your plans for me :)

House, House, House Blah!

So a good week so far!
I've been getting more sleep than I have last week, which is such a blessing. I usually get to sleep around 10pm, wake up at 1-ish, and go back to sleep until 6ish. BIG step! I'm feeling less side effects from the medication (less drowsiness, less nausea!). I'm no longer taking nausea medication, or Xanax near as much.
I had therapy this morning, and we basically discussed what going back to work full time will look like. She would rather me ease back into it, instead of overwhelming myself. So looks like I'll be working 6 hr days next week, 7 hr days for two weeks after that, and then start back at 8 hr days in 3-4 weeks. Sounds good to me!
Well, I went over to our house today to help my mother in law paint some things. She painted the insides of all the cabinets and touched up the wall over the stairs. I finished sanding the kitchen halfwall, primed it and then finished painting it. It's all coming together! Sorry, still no pictures yet. I also went and bug sprayed outside. We have a SERIOUS infestation of box elder bugs on our trees out bad. They are breeding like crazy. It's really gross. Hopefully I got most/all of them.

Anywho, I'm gonna get ready for bed. Night all!

Yea, I suck at posting

So, hey. It's been awhile. My mom threatened me with burnt mushrooms if I didn't write another post, so here I am.

The last post was Tuesday, and no, I didn't die. Even though it flippin felt like it! Just another confirmation that I can get through it. The rest of the week went pretty fast as I was preparing for the bachelorette party over the weekend. Wednesday I only worked 2 hours since Tuesday night/Wednesday morning were filled with lack of sleep and panic. Good news is I hadn't had any panic for about two weeks. Medication is working, side effects suck.

I learned my lesson from playing games non-stop on my tablet, I get brain freeeeeeeaaaaakkkksss out. So no more songpop domination or TempleRun for now. Just temporary hopefully. I ROCK at songpop.

Anyway, so the big weekend has come and past and I'm a survivor of yet another Bachelorette/Kansas City party weekend. The ride down was fine, I took some motion sickness pills and managed not to get sick. Downpours of rain welcomed us to our hotel, and I was FREAKING out! Not cause I don't love rain(everyone knows I LOVE IT), but because my brand spanking new booties are suede! Thank goodness it stopped or I would have had to wear flippity flops with my amazing borrowed dress. Phew, dodged a bullet.

ALl of the bridal party (7 of us) ate lunch at firehouse subs (love my meatball sub!) and went back to veg and put our faces/makeup on. Then the games started, which I must say I rocked. One involved a honeycomb cereal box. It was placed on the ground and we had to take turns picking it up with our teeth, without using hands or getting on our knees. Basically we had to be ninjas. Each round would get another two inches cut off the box. I tied with another girl for the winner, the box was only 1/2in tall, and I still was able to get it with my teeth. Not gonna lie, my legs hurt the next day. So worth it.

We then went to dinner, and walked a block to The Cheesecake Factory. We had to wait an hour and 45 minutes for our table, so we of course went to the bar. I held down the fort with my Ginger Ale on the rocks, and tried to block out the insanely loud horrible music and yelling of random people. I didn't do so hot. My brain started to feel fried/overloaded. I didn't even get 5 bites down of my salmon and asparagus before having to start doing deep breathing exercises. Thankfully we left shortly after that and I strutted my stuff back to our hotel. I decided I wasn't going to make it out, since the noise would not be worth it.

SOOO while the other girls went and drank too much I cleaned up the hotel room, got their beds ready, and  tried to relax. I got about 45 minutes of sleep before the party came back, and the bride lost her cookies for about an hour. BUT funny thing was, when she bounced on the bed she got stuck between the wall and the bed. CRACKED us up! I love her, she rocks my world.

Anyway, so the next day was okay. I got not enough sleep and felt terrible. Another girl was up at 7 so we went for some breakfast while the other girls were sleeping it off. We only got shushed 3 or 4 times, haha. We came back at 9:30a and I decided to get everything pack up so we could get outta dodge asap. Everyone was awake around 10-ish, and we were gone by 11:45am. We stopped in Lawrence to hang with the brides brothers, and to eat some yummy food. We finally got hour around 5:30 I think. I actually don't remember...doesn't matter. The rest of the night I napped and relaxed.

Today hubby and I went over to our house to keep working away. He completed the tile/grout on the floor and started the back splash tile. It looks so beautiful! I'll post a pic some time, I promise. I mowed and mulched the yard in 100 degree weather. I should get medal or a stupidity badge. Way too hot. I have a terrible farmers tan now. Ugh. We ended up using 16 bags of red mulch, and it looks awesome!

Anyway, time to do some laundry. Night beautiful world! Sweet dreams!
